It was just one of those great golfing days for Mick Parrett, when he played for Tiverton seniors in the Emerton-Court match against Wrangaton.

He aced the 12th, won his match and then went on to play the winning shot in the home team's amazing 20th hole sudden-death play-off win.

Mick, a five handicapper, played with Norman Ford (15) as top pair in the ten-man team.

Tiverton trailing 4-1 after the first leg at Wrangaton needed to gain four points or more to reach the third round of the county-wide knock-out event.

After the five matches were completed, the sides were level five-all, which meant the leading pairs of each side had to play from the 1st hole until someone lost. Thanks to Parrett's good form, he won the 2nd with a four, to send his side through to play Thurlestone in the next round.

This is the first run that Tiverton have had in the competition for some years. Match results were:
